Get Exercised for Animals!

vinathon

Do you like to hike, bike, swim, walk, roll, kayak, canoe or anything else that takes you across a measurable distance? Then we invite you to hold your own, private or public, walk- bike- or whatever-a-thon for the birds and other animals at VINE.

It’s fun, easy, and a great way to raise funds for animals while getting some exercise.

Here’s the basic idea: Choose an activity. Choose a time and place. Ask friends and family to sponsor you. Go!

You could take an energetic hike along a nature trail or a slow stroll along city sidewalks. You could bike around a lake or swim laps in a pool. You could do any of those things alone or with others. If you invite others, you could make it a private affair, with just one or a few friends. Or you could use flyers or social media to make it a public event.

You can go low-key or splashy. Maybe you’re an introvert, in which case you could use this as an excuse to take a long, solo stroll or have a quiet conversation with one friend. If you’re an extrovert, you and your many friends might decide to walk in animal costumes or decorate your bikes.

You could even break out of the one-day format altogether. Maybe you’ve been wanting to get into the habit of exercising more regularly. You could ask a few close friends and family members to sponsor you over the course of a month!

Do this any time between now and the end of June to be part of VINE’s worldwide whatever-a-thon. If you raise $50 or more, we’ll send you a VINE t-shirt as a souvenir.

Whenever, wherever, and however you choose to participate, we’ve got you covered, with pledge sheets and support from our new Community Engagement Coordinator, Brandie. We’ll also be happy to mail out brochures for you to give to your sponsors.

To let us know how you plan to participate, leave a comment below, write to Brandie, or join this Facebook event page.
