Party in the Pasture!

Pick Up Sticks — Teams will collect fallen branches into brush piles, thereby clearing the pastures and driveways while creating habitat for ground-nesting birds and other wildlife. The team with the biggest pile wins a prize!

Meet in the Middle — Starting at opposite ends, two people (or pairs) will walk the back pasture fence line, looking for breaches and clearing obstructions.

Thistle Mania — Teams will seek and destroy the prickly plants that will take over the pastures if left unchecked. The team with the largest heap of dug-up thistles will win!

Spot the Bare Spot — In this solitary game, individual players will seek out and seed bare patches in the pasture.

T-shirts, caps, travel mugs, bumper stickers, books… we’ll be reaching deep into our supply closet for door prizes and awards for the winners of games.

After a few hours of playing the “party games” above, we’ll retreat to a shady spot for refreshments. This will be a great opportunity for members of the extended VINE community to get to know each other better while resting up after working hard for our nonhuman community members.
